The ‘Binnenste Buiten, De mens ontleed’ (Inside out. Man anatomised) is on display in the Universiteitsmuseum (University Museum) up to and including 24 January 2011. As part of the exhibition, almost one hundred objects from the world-famous collection of anatomy are displayed
The exhibition focuses on human beings and processes in the human body, such as blood circulation and digestion, and features a real heart which was put in formalin centuries ago. Then there is the muscle man from 1843, a papier-mâché educational model that can be divided into 130 parts (!), and five lengthwise sections of a male torso.
